A clearer picture of London

About LondonLondon.London

London is a city of neighbourhoods, each with its own character. We bring together information about its boroughs to help you explore, compare and understand the places that matter to you.

For life in London

Whether you already live here, are considering a move or help other people find a home, the site brings schools, housing, transport, green spaces, local services and more into one place.

Explore the 32 boroughs and the City of London, starting with a topic or a place that interests you.

Two ways to see the city

Every topic starts with the geographical map. Select a borough or a location to open its details. For suitable borough-level topics, switch to Borough comparison: equal-sized hexagons make patterns easier to compare.

The two views use the same underlying figures. A hexagon represents a borough, not its real boundary or the size of its population.

About our data

We draw on published sources and show source links, reporting periods and relevant counting rules alongside each topic. A source’s reporting date can differ from the date we collected it; check the details when freshness matters.

Each topic has a defined scope. For example, a selection of major parks is different from a directory of every green space. Missing information is not the same as zero, and coverage notes explain relevant gaps.

Borough averages provide context, rather than describing every street or household. Counts, rates and projections answer different questions, so the measure and period should be read together with the figures.

Keep exploring

Use the map to get your bearings, then follow source links for more detail. Our London Links page introduces other useful ways to discover the city’s parks, planning and history.
